Mr. Kevin Ugwuoke, FCRM

Executive Director, Risk Management/Chief Risk Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, 1st Vice President

Kevin Ugwuoke is a distinguished banking professional with over three decades of experience and a solid academic foundation. Graduating with First Class Honors in Civil Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1987, he pursued further education, earning both a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Throughout his career, Kevin has demonstrated expertise in banking operations, business process reengineering, commercial and corporate banking, compliance, and risk management. At Citibank Nigeria, he rose to Vice President and Senior Credit Analyst, leading notable project finance transactions, including syndicated loans for giants in the Nigerian telecommunication industry.

Kevin left significant marks in subsequent roles at Access Bank, UBA, and Mainstreet Bank (now Polaris Bank). Notably at Access Bank, he restructured credit risk management policies across multiple African countries, showcasing adeptness in navigating complex regulatory environments. Similarly, at UBA as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, he decentralized credit risk administration across Africa and enhanced risk governance structures.

Currently serving as the Executive Director and Chief Risk Officer at Fidelity Bank Plc, his leadership has led to a notable growth in the loan portfolio, contributing to the bank's success and industry prominence, while maintaining robust risk governance processes, earning consistent positive regulatory ratings and international recognitions.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys diverse interests, ranging from reading and table tennis to technology and traveling. He also contributes to academic discourse through publications on banking risks and prospects. He is the current 1st Vice President of the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria and is committed to advancing compliance and risk management in the banking sector.

Mrs. Eneni Oduwole, FCRM

Mrs. Eneni Eduwole is an accomplished Risk Director and Sustainability Management Executive with an outstanding track record in enhancing organizational resilience, mitigating risk, and fostering sustainable growth. She has led numerous cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams through dynamic regulatory and market environments.

Her core areas of expertise include Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), business continuity, ESG strategy integration, operational risk, crisis management, and board-level advisory. She is widely recognized for her thought leadership in the risk community and is the author of "Understanding Risk Management – Become an Expert in 31 Days."

Dr. Laurine Ubanozie, FCRM

Dr Laurine Ubanozie is a consummate strategist, Risk management expert and self-assured marketer with over 20 years of experience. She has developed and facilitated training in Collateral/ Risk management under Structured Trade Finance for various Financial Institutions, implemented Collateral management, secured distribution process, business start-ups and continuity management, and governance risks, among others.

Dr Laurine began her career a banker with Access Bank Plc before holding key roles at Cashville Group, IGPES, one of leading ingenious Oil and Gas servicing company (upstream operations), ACE Global Depository, an international Collateral Management/Advisory company before joining the Group Management of JPSage Group and Sageview Petroleum Limited Board as the Pioneer Managing Director/ CEO of Sageview Petroleum Limited, a subsidiary of JPSage Group.

Dr Laurine is the managing principal of Laubarella Resources Limited a Risk management /Business Development Consultancy, specialities in the Energy Sector: Upstream, Midstream and Downstream oil and gas operations. She is currently a Lead Consultant – Business development/Risk Manager with some notable oil and gas servicing companies such as Zeconia GIL and Index Brook Limited respectively. She is also a country representative -Nigeria for Aptivaa/CogNext, an international Risk Management/ advisory company and a Partner at EzekielPartners. She serves on various board.

Laurine is highly involved in professional organizations, serving on the Governing Council, a Treasurer and Fellow Chartered Risk Manager (FCRM) of the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria and holding membership in various institutes.

Dr Laurine a philanthropist, a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation, Rotary International, Assistant Governor of Rotary International, District 9112 and Past President of Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro and the Founder/President of The Formidable Jewels Foundation for the Needy.

She holds degrees in English, an MBA, an MPA and Ph.D. Petroleum Resources Management and Corporate Governance, a certificate of merit in International Humanitarian Law and Law of Armed Conflict with United Nations Institute for Training and Research, Business/ Social Enterprise, and Data Analytics. She is currently running an advanced programme in Project Management.

She has been recognized for her achievements with various merits awards and very passionate about Youth counselling and mentoring, traveling, dancing and cooking.

Mr. Olaniyi Olalemi, FCA, FCIB, ACRM, MBA

As a seasoned Senior Consultant with over 20 years of cross-industry experience in Governance, Audit, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Project Management, EPIC, and US Tax Consulting, I have a proven track record of delivering strategic value across diverse sectors, including Banking, Financial Services, Power, Healthcare, and Consulting. I specialize in designing and implementing internal audit methodologies, enterprise risk frameworks, and compliance systems that enhance operational efficiency and ensure regulatory alignment.

I am the author of Navigating Operational Risk Culture in Healthcare Systems, where I pioneered the formal definition of operational risk loss events in healthcare, contributing to stronger risk management practices in the sector. Additionally, I have successfully managed large-scale, cross-functional projects, including IT system integrations, risk-based audit frameworks, and governance structure implementations, consistently delivering projects on time, within budget, and with optimal resource utilization.

Currently serving as Group Chief Internal Auditor at GDL (Finance & Leasing, Asset Management & Stockbroking) in Nigeria, a role I assumed in February 2025. Previously, I served as the Treasurer of RIMAN (now CRMI) from 2016 to 2018, where I contributed to the Institute's development and strategic direction. I also played a key role in the PwC & Healthcare IT Leaders EPIC Go-Live Project, managing critical system implementation processes to enhance healthcare IT functionality.

With expertise in tools like Peachtree, QuickBooks, TurboTax, CAATs, Power BI, and project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Asana, I am known as a strategic leader who fosters resilience, reduces risk exposure, and promotes sustainable governance. I am committed to leveraging my extensive experience to further CRMI’s mission, driving best practices and knowledge exchange in operational risk management.

Mr. Umara Gubio, FCRM

Deputy General Manager (DGM) & Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, NEXIM Bank

Sherif Umara Gubio is an accomplished financial services executive with over two decades of experience spanning commercial banking, risk management, and compliance. He currently serves as the Deputy General Manager and Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank), where he has been a pivotal figure since 2011.

Mr. Gubio began his banking career with FSB International Bank in 1997 and subsequently held leadership roles at Guaranty Trust Bank, where he served as Group Head of Advantium Banking. In 2006, he transitioned into risk management with UBA Plc, playing a strategic role in the expansion of UBA Sierra Leone.

A trained pharmacist, Mr. Gubio holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Ahmadu Bello University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Maiduguri. His commitment to professional development is evident in his completion of executive programs at both Harvard Business School and the Lagos Business School.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Risk Management Institute (CRMI) and a Chartered Certified Forensic Accountant/Auditor (CCFRA), underscoring his expertise in governance, risk, and compliance. Since 2017, he has been instrumental in strengthening NEXIM Bank's risk and compliance frameworks, contributing to the Bank's strategic mandate in facilitating Nigeria's non-oil export growth.

Mrs. Ochanya Regina Dan-Ugo, ACRM, CSP, WOB, ASIS, FAERMP

Ochanya Dan-Ugo is currently the Director/Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) of Unified Payment Services Limited (UP) and its subsidiaries. She is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function within UP, and is accountable for the holistic management of risk in the foremost fintech and Payments service provider in Nigeria. Ochanya is a business driver, risk manager, corporate governance advocate, and a proponent for sustainable business practices.

Ochanya possesses over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sector, which includes about 20 years executive leadership experience within the financial services industry. She joined Unified Payments in 2005 and has been responsible for the leadership and supervision of the business, fraud management, information security, compliance and operational risk management teams. She also oversees the regulatory compliance and payment scheme rule compliance with businesses relating to Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Pay Attitude. She also served as a member of Visa Incorporated Risk Executive Council for Sub-Saharan Africa for several years. Prior to this, she was a Chief Superintendent of Narcotics and a Principal Staff Officer, Records Management (Intelligence) in the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, where she worked for 13 years before leaving for the private sector.

Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Hope Payment Service Bank Limited (Hope PSBank), a Nigerian digital-first Bank which leverages digital technologies to deliver inclusive financial services. As a member of the board of directors of a bank in its nascent stage, she is exposed to the financial health of the company and therefore has been directly involved in its development. She serves on the Audit and Risk Management Board Committee of the Bank.

Ochanya holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Jos, a Master's Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies from the University of Lagos, and a Special Executive Master's Program (SEMP) from the Metropolitan School of Business and Administration, UK. She is a Qualified Risk Director (QRD) with certificates in Risk Governance and Cyber Risk Governance from the reputable DCRO Institute, Ohio USA and a Global Competent Board Designation (GCB.D) from Competent Boards, Toronto, Canada.

She is a chartered security professional, chartered risk manager, a fellow of the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science, and a fellow of the Association of Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria. Ochanya is a Certified Lead Risk Manager (ISO 31000), certified Risk and Compliance Professional (CRCMP), Certified Cyber (Governance, Risk and Compliance) Professional. She is a Harvard trained Corporate Director.

Mr. Kamoru Adeyemi, FCIB, FCRM, ACS

Kamoru is a professional Banker with cross functional experience in business development, relationship management and risk management spanning over 20 years. He has HND in Banking & Finance from The Polytechnic Ibadan and holds a B.sc in Banking & Finance from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. He obtained his M.Sc degree also in Banking & Finance from the University of Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), Fellow of the Chartered Risk Management Institute and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACS). Kamoru is an award-winning Certified Risk Manager with Risk Management Association of Nigeria (now Chartered Risk Management Institute). He holds a Certificate in Islamic Finance Risk Assessment & Mitigation (CeIFRAM) from TAIF Digital Institute, RAK, UAE. He is a Premium Member of Basel III Compliance Professional Association (BiiiCPA), Washington DC, USA and a member of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). He has attended several courses in Enterprise Risk Management, Leadership and Strategy.

Kamoru joined TAJBank Ltd in 2019 as the pioneer Deputy Chief Risk Officer and became substantive CRO in April 2025. He currently superintends over risk management function across the Bank. He provided leadership in setting up structures, policies & frameworks across risk spectrum in the Bank. He coordinates the preparation and implementation of the Bank’s annual risk asset portfolio plan/strategy and sectoral allocation of credit. He is responsible for development and review of the Bank’s risk appetite statement and risk strategy in response to the Bank’s overall business strategy. He takes direct responsibility for the preparation of annual ICAAP and ILAAP documents for the Bank. He is directly in charge of the Bank’s sustainability banking initiatives and reporting.

Kamoru is an active member of several management committees including Management Credit Committee (MCC), Assets & Liability Management Committee (ALCO), IT Steering Committee etc.
