The Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria was founded in 2000 and incorporated by an Act of the National Assembly in 2022. Today, we are the recognised professional home for risk practitioners across banking, insurance, the public sector, and corporate Nigeria.

We collaborate with regulators, build capacity through certification, and continually advance the practice of risk management at every level — from individual professionals to enterprise-wide frameworks.

Mandate

Established by Act No. 39 of 2022, CRMI sets the national standard for the Chartered Risk Manager designation through certification, examinations, and continuing professional development.

Mr. Kevin Ugwuoke, FCRM

President & Chairman of Council

Kevin Ugwuoke is a seasoned banking executive and risk management leader with over 35 years of experience across banking operations, corporate finance, and enterprise-wide risk governance. He currently serves as the Executive Director and Chief Risk Officer at Fidelity Bank Plc, where he leads a team of over 100 professionals across the divisions of the Risk Management Directorate, supporting the bank's growth while upholding strong governance standards enterprise-wide.
