Eunice Sampson is currently the Director, Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Ernst & Young (EY) West Africa, one of the world�s �big four� consulting firms. Eunice Sampson has powered an impactful Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability practice for nearly two decades. In 2018, she joined Dangote Cement Plc, Africa�s leading cement manufacturer as General Manager and Head, Sustainability, where she actively supported the brand in its goal to achieve a strong alignment between financial and non-financial performance, in line with the balanced scorecard sustainability principle. She has been a firm advocate of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She supported Dangote Cement and other subsidiaries within the Dangote Group to identify, adopt and integrate SDGs that align with their business focus, sustainability agenda and overall corporate strategy. Before joining the Dangote Group, Eunice was the pioneer Head of CSR and Sustainability at Zenith Bank Plc, West Africa�s largest financial institution, where she put in over 15 years supporting the brand to build a culture of proactive environmental and social risk management. She has supported the mainstreaming of Sustainability in the Nigerian banking sector through her active role in driving industry-wide consciousness on the integration of the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles (NSBP), a sustainability regulation unveiled for players in the financial services sector in 2012 by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). In 2018, Eunice was recognized by the Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Responsibility Awards (SERAs Africa) for her outstanding contributions to the development of CSR and Sustainability practice in Nigeria. She is co-founder and member, Board of Trustees, Sustainability Professional Institute of Nigeria (SPIN), where she is working with other pioneer Sustainability professionals in the country to support upcoming practitioners with the competences and innovative thinking that they require to excel in their sustainability career and propel their organizations towards Nigeria�s Sustainable Development. Eunice is a Fellow, National Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria and a member of the Institute�s Governing Council. She is also a member, Board of Trustees, Growing Businesses Foundation (GBF), among several other Board memberships. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS, UK). In December 2020, she won the award of CSR/Sustainability Practitioner of the Year during the Sustainability, Responsibility & Entrepreneurship Awards (SERAs Africa). Also, in 2020, Eunice was one of 40 Women in Nigeria recognized by the United Nations� Private Sector Advisory Group (PSAG) for outstanding contributions to fostering the actualization of the SDGs. In October 2021, she was named among the 100 global leaders (MB100 awards) fostering the UN Global Goals. At EY, Eunice Sampson currently leads a team of climate change and sustainability experts that are leveraging ESG to deliver transformative business solutions and climate advisory to clients across diverse sectors. Her areas of expertise include sustainability strategy, social stewardship, sustainable finance, decarbonization strategy, sustainable supply chain management, sustainability reporting, and impact measurement, among others. Ms. Sampson is a published author and a PhD scholar in Sustainable Development.
