He is the Director General (DG) of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Nigeria. He was appointed to the position in April 2024, succeeding Lamido Yuguda. Agama has a long history with the SEC, having joined the organization in 2004. He has held various positions within the SEC, including Head of Registration Exchanges and Market Infrastructure, Head of Public Offerings, and Special Assistant to the Executive Commissioner (Operations). Before he was appointed DG, he served as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Capital Market Institute (NCMI), a subsidiary of the SEC.
